Energy-Tel, LLC - Energy Update March 21, 2013

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, March 20) at $3.96 per MMBtu, up 24 cents from last week’s $3.72 (Wednesday, March 13).  The NYMEX near-month April 2013 futures contract pricing was up 28 cents, closing this Wednesday, March 20 at $3.960 per MMBtu.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates average domestic natural gas consumption increased by 2.1  per cent. There was an increase in consumption in the residential/commercial and industrial sectors 5.1 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. The power sector consumption was down 2.2 per cent.

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 1,876 Bcf on Friday, March 15.  Stocks were down 502 Bcf below last year at the same time and 162 Bcf above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, March 13) at $3.72 per MMBtu, up 15 cents from last week’s $3.57(Wednesday, March 6).  The NYMEX near-month April 2013 futures contract pricing was up 21 cents, closing this Wednesday, March 13 at $3.3.68 per MMBtu.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates average domestic natural gas consumption decreased by 11.5 per cent. There was a decrease in all sectors of consumption with the largest decrease in residential and commercial (15.7 per cent) and power (12.7 per cent)..

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 1,938 Bcf on Friday, March 8.  Stocks were down 440 Bcf below last year at the same time and 198 Bcf above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, March 6) at $3.57 per MMBtu, up 8 cents from last week’s $3.49 (Wednesday, February 27).  The NYMEX near-month April 2013 futures contract pricing was up closing this Wednesday, March 6 at $3.470 per MMBtu

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates average domestic natural gas consumption decreased by 3.8 per cent. There was a decrease in all sectors of consumption: residential and commercial, industrial  and power.

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 2,083 Bcf on Friday, March 1.  Stocks were down 361 below last year at the same time and 269 above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, February 27 at $3.49 per MMBtu, up 15 cents from last week’s $3.34 (Wednesday, February 20).  The NYMEX near-month March 2013 futures contract pricing was up 15 cents from last Wednesday ($3.279 per MMBtu ) closing this Tuesday, February 26 at $3.427 per MMBtu.   The April near-month trading closed at $4.434 on Wednesday, February 27.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates average daily natural gas consumption decreased by 2.4 per cent. There was decrease in Residential and Commercial of 4.7 per cent and industrial consumption was down 0.8 percent.  Power consumption rose modestly at 1.2 percent

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 2,229 Bcf on Friday, February 22.  Stocks were down 307 below last year at the same time and 308 above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, February 20 at $3.34 per MMBtu, up 6 cents from last week’s $3.28 (Wednesday, February 13).  The NYMEX near-month March 2013 futures contract pricing was down 3 cents from last Wednesday ($3.306 per MMBtu ) closing this Wednesday at $3.279 per MMBtu.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates average daily natural gas consumption rose 6.1 per cent. There was an increase in all sectors with the largest being 7.4 per cent in the residential and commercial sector and 7.3 per cent in the power sector

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 2,400 Bcf on Friday, February 15.  Stocks were down 242 Bcf (9.2%) below last year at the same time and 361 Bcf (17.7%) above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, February 13 at $3.28 per MMBtu, down 13 cents from last week’s $3.41 (Wednesday, February 6).  The NYMEX near-month March 2013 futures contract pricing was down 11 cents from last Wednesday ($3.418 per MMBtu ) closing this Wednesday at $3.306 per MMBtu.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates average daily natural gas consumption fell 8.4 per cent. There was a decrease in all sectors with the largest being 13 per cent in the residential and commercial sector.

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 2,527 Bcf on Friday, February 8.  Stocks were down 270 Bcf (9.7%) below last year at the same time and 348 Bcf (16%) above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, February 6) at $3.41 per MMBtu, up 12 cents from last week’s $3.24 (Wednesday, January 30).  The NYMEX near-month March 2013 futures contract pricing was up 8.3 cents from last Wednesday ($3.335 per MMBtu ) closing this Wednesday at $3.418 per MMBtu.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates average daily residential and commercial natural gas consumption rose 9.82 per cent. The industrial sector also rose 1.6 per cent, and the power sector was up 1.6 per cent.

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 2.684 Bcf on Friday, February 1.  Stocks were down 226 Bcf (7.8%) below last year at the same time and 351 Bcf (15%) above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, January 30) at $3.24 per MMBtu, down 29 cents from last week’s $3.53 (Wednesday, January 23).  The NYMEX near-month March 2013 futures contract pricing was down 21.9 cents from last Wednesday ($3.554 per MMBtu ) closing this Wednesday at $3.335 per MMBtu. The February contract expired January 29 at $3.226

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates residential and commercial natural gas consumption was down 11.6 per cent week-on-week. The industrial sector also fell 3.0 per cent, and the power sector was down 13.7 per cent.

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 2,806 Bcf on Friday, January 25.  Stocks were down 202 Bcf (6.2%) below last year at the same time and 304 Bcf (12.2%) above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, January 23) at $3.53 per MMBtu, up 10 cents from last week’s $3.43(Wednesday, January 16).  The NYMEX near-month February 2013 futures contract pricing was up 11.9 cents from last Wednesday ($3.435 per MMBtu )closing this Wednesday at $3,554 per MMBtu.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates, overall natural gas demand rose by 9.1 per cent over last week.  Residential and commercial natural gas consumption was up 17 per cent week-on-week. The industrial sector fell slightly, while the power sector was down 2.5 per cent.

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 2,996 Bcf on Friday, January 18.  Stocks were down 157 Bcf (5.0%) below last year at the same time and 320 Bcf (12.0%) above the 5 year average.

The Henry Hub spot pricing closed this week (Wednesday, January 16 at $3.43 per MMBtu, up 29 cents from last week’s $3.14(Wednesday, January 9, 2013).  The NYMEX near-month February 2013 futures contract pricing was up 32 cents from last Wednesday ($3.113 per MMBtu )closing this Wednesday at $3.435 per MMBtu.

 

According to BENTEK Energy LLC estimates, overall natural gas demand fell 2.2 per cent over last week.  Residential and commercial natural gas consumption was down 5.4 per cent week-on-week. The industrial sector fell 1.6 per cent, while the power sector rose 3.9 per cent.

 

According to EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report working natural gas in storage was 3,168 Bcf on Friday, January 11.  This represents an implied net withdrawal of 148 Bcf from the previous week.  Stocks were 147 Bcf (4.4%) below than last year at the same time and 316 Bcf (11.1%) above the 5 year average.
